My question here is based on my few experiances where Event handlers failed.
One is like when your IT department roll out windows patch / update to sharepoint server. This will break your some services and then its starts sequence of problems... sometime your user profile services or some time timer job frequent cresh.
And this makes sharepoint administrator on fire .... this will reduce system reliability and lots of investigations.
If you wanted to recover immediately then ultimate option is... search for microsoft cumulative update and apply it if you haven't... so this will restore all services and settings back to work but disadvantage is you are not aware about what caused problem. Root Cause of problem is part of administrator.
Disadvantage of applying CU is - you are not sure about the problems of that CU, you may not have enough feedback from users.
I am still investigating on other alternatives, so that it will not impact Event Handler or Let do Event Handler job some different more reliable way.
I welcome your / users openions on this.
